This picture was a lot harder then you may think. Essie, doesn't like Buddy. So we had Cash in the middle, but Cash cared more about eating then getting his picture taken, so he turned his back to the camera. That would be why Hannah (who set up the camera on the limb of a tree) had to push the button, run over, and jump on backwards! :D Look at the picture close up, it's rather funny really. ;)

My way cool, riding friendly thirty-one bag I ordered through my wonderful sister Jessica! It was so cool how it just sat on the back of the saddle, I hardly felt it the whole time. Even running I only had to move it back in place a few times!

After the long descent the saddles had moved themselves to the neck of the horses. So we had to take a break and fix them. =]

It was a lovely day, and a lovely ride. So much happened that day, you would have a book to read if I told you all about it. =]

A DAY OFF?

I was feeling quite philosophical this morning. I was lying in bed after sleeping in on my first day off in three months, and realized several remarkable things.

Of course the most logical thought I had was that lazy people why sleep a lot are the most philosophical people around. I suppose they just have more time to think than you or I.

I was in deep thought about that great philosopher Murphy. He is the one who said, "If anything can go wrong it will." (Murphy must have slept in a lot.) Ol' Murphy was my kind of guy. I was lying there reflecting on that great law of his when the realism became quite evident. It produced the following philosophies.

Why is it that when you want to sleep in, no one else wants you to sleep in? Does the whole world became jealous because they want to but can't? I wondered why my daughters tried extra hard to get me up this morning and on days I accidentally oversleep and am late for work, there is not a sound from them? I also wondered why the people next door, the ones who haven't mowed their yard in five weeks, make this their day to get up early and do it?

Why is it the only time your editor decides to call your home, to make sure your article makes the deadline, is when you are in deep sleep and can't remember your name, much less your article? And the last thought I had before I got up was: "How come philosophers always ask questions but never have an answer to their questions?

I don't know the answer to that one either, but I could probably think up another question or two this morning. Couldn't You? See? I told you so.

Story Time With "BEFUN"

Here is a wordy post, but a worthy post to be written.
Yesterday I went with Mom, and Jessica, to help watch Faith and Mercy while they got their hair done.
Faith being our little doodle girl had notebook in hand along with a rather large Princess pen!
While Mercy was on the floor eating ninety-two baby food puffs, Faith was on the floor drawing/writing in her notebook with the rather large Princess pen, and trying to keep both away from the little ripper. ;)
Someday I will have to get a picture up here of some of Faith's art, she is VERY GOOD!
She made many a picture for me, one of them she wrote her name on, and then at the bottom of the paper she wrote my name.
She sounded it out all on her own and everything.
Brilliant child!
Just think, after all these years I've been spelling my very own name wrong. It took Faith to show me this.
The true spelling of my name is, "BEFUN".
Who knew but Faith?!
Well, Mom and Jessica said that Faith must really think I'm fun. Or maybe it's that I'm not fun enough and she's telling me to BE-FUN. I don't really know.
I just know that I now have a new nickname. =]
The clever girl wrote Mercy Lynn on another paper as well.
She sounded it out all on her own too.
It read, "MSEA LN".
Makes sense to me!

So we don't really have this much snow at the time of posting. Really we don't have any snow, we truly have ground for the first time in months. But we are to get it all back in the next few days... :D Oh joy! ;)

For how much I've protested being a "girly girl" over the years...

and now I've been to three Mary Kay parties within about a months time now for Jessica. =]

What can I say? You do a lot for family. :)

Some old notes from a message I found while cleaning. Good timing, I need to learn these and keep them ready in my mind to be thought of when tempted to say something when I shouldn't.

What do you do when you are stuck at the airport for 5 or so hours???

This is what Lydia and I did...
Get your feet up, so the swelling goes down from the 14 hour flight that came right after the four hour one.

Try to sleep, but get no where fast...
Sing, pray, take pictures!

Start to go a little crazy after being awake for the last 30 some hours!

Really.... It does weird stuff to you!

No big deal though, right... =]

So, the story-Everything went very well for us, the whole way...

That is till Lydia started thinking on the 2nd flight that there was no way we were getting in on Sunday night... She asked me for the papers, and we found out as we were over the ocean that we were getting home a day earlier then anyone knew... That means even Mr. Fairlamb who was picking us up! Um, What do we do?! We had no way to call, or even email till we landed! Not only that, but what do we do about Naomi who had a ticket for Sunday night, the night we Thought we were getting in before!

So, as soon as we landed at O'Hare about 4:40pm. Lydia tried calling her Mom from my US phone. She didn't get through, so she tried her Dad's cell. "Hello." "Hi Dad?" "WHAT?!?!" LOL!!! It was so funny!!! So Mr. Fairlamb, took off to get us within about 15 minutes. A 5 hour drive... =]

Then I called my Dad- "Hello" "Hi Dad, you wouldn't happen to be in Chicago would you?" "No, you're kidding? Where are you?" "Where else would my phone work then the US?" =] "What!"

Long story short, we got through everything alright. Mr. Reed called and helped walk us through getting Naomi on a flight that night. And we got to show up at Church the next day and see jaws drop! :D

But we still had to wait till 10 or 11 till Mr. Fairlamb and the boys got there.

Lydia and I have quite the stories to tell of that night!

It was just the grand finale to a wonderfully crazy trip! :D

(By the time we got into the Fairlamb's house, it was 5 am.

After a shower and getting ready for bed, it was about 6 am.

Once we got in bed, Lydia and I just lay their dizzy, shaky, and with this great ringing in our ears!

There was no way we were going to sleep right away.

We talked for a bit, then we even sang some.

By the time we got to sleep it was about 7:10

I woke up about 7:40 not waiting the alarm to go off and wake everyone I got up to get it and get ready for Church.

The crazy thing was, I felt like I'd had a full night of sleep!)

Michael and I just so happened to have our birthdays a week apart, and both our 21st.
So we had a party on the 21st of Nov. We went out to eat and had a grand time of it.

In just over 12 hours we will be leaving this great land of endless hellos and afternoon mam, for the land I call home.
The last 6 weeks have been like nothing I have ever known before, but surely something I would do all over again if I could!
It is so hard to say goodbye to those that have become 'family'. We have spent the last 6 weeks of our lives together, and now to say goodbye, and maybe for good when it comes to seeing eachother! Oh my!
We have already left Warren, Narelle, Rue, Angel, and Lizzy behind...
Oh sadness!
They have all been so wonderful!
If any of you see this, know that it's not been a day and we are already very sad to not have you around!
We will now slowly but surely head back to our own parts of the world. PA, FL, GA, TN, NZ, AU, and *MI!!!* :D
So hard to say goodbye, but I can't wait to say all my hellos!!!
We are the first to leave, heading out with Eun Si, in the morning.
Thankfully we aren't the last, that would be even harder! Poor Hannah!
Well, I think that should be enough for now.
It's already midnight here, and I need to get some good sleep so I'm less dead when we get picked up in IL on Sunday! =]
Nice hot shower, and flat bed sound wonderful right now!
